The coming update (20/09/2010 23:57) |
The big update is due in the coming season-changeIn the next season-change, we are doing some rather extensive updates on our servers. You must be blind and deaf if you have not seen any information about this, as the last 5 blog-entries here in the Development-blog have been all about it, but just in case I thought it was wise to make one more entry here to summarize things in a neat and orderly way. The Simulator (Version 11)As I have explained in the past 5 entries here, the main focus has been on the simulator. It has been modified, added to, rewritten and improved in so many places, listing them would be pointless. I am 100% sure that the new simulator is far better than the old one, simulates the matches in a far more realistic way, produces much more entertaining match-reports and will lift the game a notch or two on both the quality-scale and fun-scale. That said, it IS a new simulator, and it will probably take a little getting used to. With new tactical settings, new events, new team-stats, and a whole new bunch of simulation-routines, you are bound to need a couple of matches to adjust. We do hope you will not be intimidated by this though, and we are pretty confident that the new simulator will be a huge success. At the moment, we are ironing out the last quirks and turning the final screws and bolts in place, but it is *finished* when it comes to features. Other changesIn addition to the changes in the simulator, there have been made a few changes that are not inside the simulator, so I figured it would be a good idea to list them all here. There is also one thing that has changed since a former blog-entry. Here goes:
- If a players fitness is BELOW 75, there is a chance resting will not help him regain fitness. A good physio will give a small bonus chance, an excellent one will give a bigger bonus etc. On average, with a good Physio, you can expect him to regain his resting-points 1 out of 3 trainings. This means that serious injuries will take longer to heal and have a bigger impact in the game. One can argue it increases the value of the Stamina-stat too! - The instant-healing ability of your medical center has been limited to light injuries only, and they can only help if the fitness of the player is between 60 and 80. (Not 70 and 80 as announced in an earlier update) - You may exchange 75 credits to money, or vice versa, per season. (Up from 50) - The Agent-fee has been lowered. The new formula looks like this: Amount : Fee
- Counter-attacking is now a new team-stat like all the others, so there is one more stat to prioritize. - There are now events that can substitute Worst Def (The defender with the lowest performance), Worst Def < 60 (The defender with the lowest performance, but only if the performance is under 60), The least fit Def (The defender with the lowest fitness), The least fit Def < 95 (The defender with the lowest fitness, but only if it is below 95), and Defender with a yellow card (to try to avoid that second nasty card). The Defender was used as an example here, of course you can do the same for all roles. The hard limits of 60 and 95 are hard-coded, and you don't need to ask about being able to set these for yourself. :-P - There are also new tactical settings to play with, to handle red-card situations. For instance, if a midfielder is sent off, you can choose between doing nothing, pull back an attacker to play in his place, pull back an attacker and substitute him for a midfielder, push a defender forward to take his place or push a defender forward to his place and then substitute him for another midfielder. If you have any substitutions left to make, that is! New leagues and nationalitiesWe are adding some nationalities in the coming season-change as well. The four lucky countries are Bangladesh, Nepal, Thailand and Singapore. We will also add some new leagues. The exact ones have not yet been decided. As we did with Vietnam, players found that belong to these new leagues will be moved in automatically when it is created, to make sure they get in early. One more thing...We are going to look at making the game PAD-compatible. Basically, this means getting rid of drag'n drop (!) on the team-setup page and on the training-page. That means we will probably be considering a click-move-click in stead of a press-drag-release. In essence, it would mean that you simply click on a player (which highlights him and shows you he is selected) and then click on where you want him. This will make the game compatible with iPhones, Android-phones, iPads, the new and coming Galaxy Pad from Samsung etc etc. I can not yet promise that this will be finished in time, but we will try. Now you have been warned. I wonder how many "bugs" will be reported like "I can't change my players!" :)
Have a great week!
